I think this is the most outstanding blog on the topic I've found yet. I was Muslim until I came to UPCI, and it's been a learning process for several years, most currently really putting myself to the conviction I feel for the past few weeks. When I prayed as a Muslim, I was covered (Hijab), and now that I'm not, praying has been made uncomfortable in a sense of I feel something's missing. Like I'm not as obedient as I could be, that people stare and study me like "Look at the new girl, she doesn't even speak outloud" (while I have spoken in tongues and received the blessing of the Holy Ghost, most muslim women do not speak out loud during their prayers, rather mouth the words as they follow along). Maybe breaking out one of my scarves would help give me strength? Maybe I'm just not ready for this...

But, as said before, this has been one of the best blogs on the subject... And gives me something to pray/think about as well!

Beautiful testimony! Would there be any teachings about what headcovering means for the unmarried woman?

www.cooljc.org is a church that teaches these truths.
Also www.upci.org is a church that teaches most of the truths I speak about here except for ladies' headcoverings.
This is the church I belong to.
In addition, I tend to dress more modestly than do most of the members of both of these churches, but each does preach modesty in dress.
Good luck finding what you're looking for!

Hi. I just found your site and like what I read. That ALSO is what hit me too. You can't do both at the same time and I don't buy the cultural relativism excuse either. I call the keeping of communion but not headship or covering Ala Cart Christianity and it troubles me in how prolific it's becoming. It's not just these passages, but others as well. Especially as new Bible "translations" come out.

This is a very well written defense of headcovering. Would you mind if I link to it?

Sister... I was wonderfull! I have read a few article about this, therefore I have not read the whole article, but it is wonderfull. Would you mind if I translate it to my own language.

I am also looking for pentecostal churches who still believe like this, to get VIDEO's / DVD of such services. I am in the process of bring this under our congregation's attention.

Thanks again, my sister in the LORD.

Hey mamacita,

Token Catholic friend here giving you a shout out! Very inspiring and well communicated! What can I say, except, once again, you've given me another way to examine my faith. I study "True Devotion to Mary" and what you have written has really rang true to what I sometimes feel in prayer.
I love ya mama! Hugs.
